About William Ng
I am born in Singapore and am currently working as a senior research and development engineer at a life science instrument company. When I am not tied up with my planted tank, I will swim and play some table tennis. Despite having such a busy schedule, I rarely forget to catch some live football matches every week.
I started a 4ft planted tank in 2004 with an objective of just growing aquatic plants. I just bought any plants from the aquarium shop with a mindset of just growing them and without any aquascape in mind. I did this for three years until I decided it is time to focus on doing aquascaping.
In 2007, I started learning and appreciate the basic fundamental of aquascaping from friends and forums. Before long, I decided to go into smaller tank with a mindset that it is easier to start with. Armed with an objective in mind, I spent the next few months sourcing for layout materials before I begin working on my first aquascape in Dec 2007. My first participation in International Aquatic Plant Layout Competition is in 2008 and that is where my aquascaping journey begins. |
